Upcoming Journal Clubs
Ageing and antiretroviral therapy in people living with HIV.
13 July, 16:00-17:00 CEST
There is still an important research question not fully understood, whether people living with HIV suffer from an accelerated or an accentuated aging. This could be a consequence of a greater biological age than a chronological age. Novel biomarkers of aging such as the epigenetic clocks could help us elucidate this important question. Do PLWV have an accelerated biological aging? Does ART partially restores this difference?
In our next Journal Club, we will discuss these outstanding issues reviewing a recent paper published in lancet HIV. Lancet HIV 2021; 8:E197-E205. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/S2352-3018(21)00006-0

Previous Journal Clubs
The impact of Covid-19 on people living with HIV. 16 June, 16:00-17:00 CEST
There are unclear data about the association of HIV infection with the risk of death due to COVID-19. People living with HIV (PLWHIV) at any stage of infection are considered a risk group for COVID-19 vaccination in many countries.
This Journal Club aims to investigate the association between HIV infection and COVID-19 death and to discuss the prevention of infection in people living with HIV.
